Carlyle's ManorCare Buyout Spurs New Legislation

When Carlyle bought out ManorCare, the deal raised new concerns for regulators and family members alike: who is in charge? How can we hold them accountable? How will they spend taxpayer dollars?
Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are working to address these issues. Senators Grassley(IA) and Kohl (WI) have introduced the Nursing Home Transparency & Improvement Act (S2641). This bill will require greater disclosure of who owns nursing homes, who is in charge, how they spend taxpayer dollars, and more.
